In our latest blog, we look at a few steps to follow to ensure that you get the best out of your aluminium doors and windows.
To clean the frames, it is simply a case of using warm water and mild detergent. It’s best to us a sponge or cloth, and definitely nothing harsh or abrasive.
How often should you need to clean? Well, at Clearview, we suggest that even in the most hazardous environments, you should probably not need to clean any more than every 3 or 4 months – most likely in more built up areas. In contrast, in more rural environments, you may not need to clean more often than 18 months to 2 years apart!
A part often overlooked are the running tracks for bifolds and sliding doors. These should be cleaned regularly to ensure proper, correct operation for the lifetime of the doors and prevent the build up of unwanted material. The easiest way to do this is to use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. It is best to do this monthly or more often if possible. After you have finished vacuuming, we recommend re-lubricating with a silicone spray where the wheel runs along the track.
