From time to time, Clear View is involved in projects which make a real difference to the dynamics of family lifestyles. This can be in helping families make more of the space within their home, or just providing more sunlight which helps to ward-off the effects of illness.
We were contacted last summer by a family in Yorkshire who were in the process of making wholesale changes to their property to allow for more space to eat and relax of an evening.
After a discussion process with our team, it as agreed that a three pane Schuco system bi-folding door would be the best option to fill their wall space, providing the ultimate inside outside living space. Other options such as sliding doors could have been used however because bi-folding doors open up around 9% of the space, it was agreed this was the best option for this family, especially as they wanted to use the room for entertainment in and out of the house.
The combined width of the three pane bi-folding door is just under 3m which is almost the whole the length of the wall in which the door is fitted. With a strong aluminium frame (in grey) and high efficiency glass, this then becomes a standalone feature of the house.
As always the glazing follows the following arrangement: 4mm toughened outer, 20mm argon filled cavity, 4mm toughened low-e inner. It is high efficiency glass!
