Introducing the Clearview Heritage Range…
Heritage doors and windows have the rare privilege of being considered both cutting edge and timeless. Currently, they’re synonymous with Scandinavian or minimalist design and are often featured within monochromatic or neutral homes. But it wasn’t always this way…
Heritage doors have a history spanning all the way back to the 19th century. The design was pioneered by Francis Henry Crittall, a leading figure in the manufacture of narrow sightline steel windows and doors. This is why you’ll sometimes hear heritage doors referred to as ‘Crittall doors’ or ‘Crittall-style doors’. The design also experienced a resurgence in popularity during the art deco movement of the 1920s and 1930s.
Originally manufactured during the industrial revolution to allow more natural daylight into growing factories, heritage doors were traditionally made of steel. Nowadays, they’re made from lightweight aluminium. This is a more widely available option that offers superior thermal efficiency and durability ideal for modern homes.
